Handa's Surprise

Handa's Surprise
The children in Reception enjoyed reading the story of Handa's Surprise by Eileen Browne. They tasted the different fruits from Handa's basket and discussed their likes and dislikes. They were also given the opportunity to explore the different fruits using their senses, a great discussion about the similarities and differences followed. It was lots of fun printing and rolling the fruit in the paint.

The Holy Spirit

Today the most peculiar thing happened! I was with all of the Apostles and it was freezing cold, plus it was windy and very rainy! We were sitting in a room, closing the windows and doors with only candlelight when all of a sudden God spoke from heaven. He was saying to us "the Holy Spirit fall upon you." we were cold and scared.

I sat down to try and get warm, but I couldn't warm up, however hard I tried! In the cold windy room we waited for the Holy Spirit to fall upon us. It was as cold as ice. Then the coldness came to a halt. It was calm and warm and our Goosebumps faded away from our soft skin. Then from out of nowhere I was speaking lots of foreign languages. All of the Apostles were speaking different languages too. We all burst out laughing. Finally the Holy Spirit had come!

A Letter from an Evacuee during World War 2

Dear Mom and family,
As the train was pulling out of the station there were lots of parents crying and sobbing but I could tell you were being strong for me. I felt like crying and pouring my heart out cant wait to see you again I miss you loads!

I am missing you like mad I want to come home but I know it's for my own protection what about your protection? Earlier I met my new family. The people are young and called Barbara and Ted.

After a few weeks, my friend in my new school had a telegraph. It was announced to the class that his father had died fighting for his country. My teacher was very supportive to him. It was also very upsetting for the whole class too. Miss said when people die we often say a prayer for them to show sorrow for their family and the person who has died. At school, the children are lovely, kind and considerate to me. Our lessons are hard and we are learning about the Egyptians.

When I was at the train station, I was picked up by a horse and carriage. You wouldn't believe the size of this house it is gigantic! The journey to school is very long because we live two miles away from it.

A couple of days back I was listening to the radio and I heard that the Germans were losing. I hope you win the war oh how I do! Are the two dogs ok oh how I miss my dear dogs Chance and Purdy.

I hope it won't be long until we see each other again. Please write back soon I hope I am back for my birthday!

Lots of love, Megan

The Feast at Cana

Noah and his Ark

A long time ago God told Noah to build an ark because he was going to make a flood. God told Noah to gather every animal into the ark. Before they went on their journey God told Noah to bring lots of food.

It rained for 40 days and 40 nights when it stopped raining and the flood was over the animals where happy with their new homes. The animals were dancing about and munching grass.

God sent a sign of a rainbow and told Noah that he would not flood the world again.

Twycross Zoo

On Thursday I went on a coach to Twycross Zoo. My favourite animals were the snake and lizard. We saw the monkeys fighting angrily we were laughing. Then we saw the animal there, it was a giraffe. Then we saw the heaviest animal there it was an elephant. Then we ate our delicious lunch. I ate it as fast as I could so I could play in the playground first. Then we went to the gift shop. I bought a bow and arrow. I liked it. Then we went back into the playground. I played on the monkey-bars and I really enjoyed it a lot. We had great fun. Then we got back on the coach. On the way back we played I spy.

If you want me to tell you about it quickly okay, if you want a healthy, education happy little child, phone this number fast places are going down quickly - 0121 743 3289

Please select our school because we always have an excellent report off Ofsted, we always achieve the Quality Mark and we are a brilliant school.

As a safe school we always stay safe on all our trips. As I am talking about health and safety we have fire bells in case of a fire, we also have electronic gates so we all stay safe inside the school grounds and no adults are allowed in school unless invited or have sent a note in with their child because they have a medical appointment.

We also have a disco now and then for special occasions.

That's pretty much it thanks for listening. Goodbye.
