Year 5 visited the Oratory Church, Hagley Road, Birmingham to visit the Drills and Habits exhibition. The exhibition was displaying the life and work of Blessed John Henry Newman who spent a significant part of his life working in Birmingham.
The morning was split into three parts. Pupils toured the Oratory Church and visited the side chapel dedicated to Blessed Newman, which was also visited by the Pope Benedict during his visit last year.
Later pupils also had the opportunity to read an exhibition and answer questions on his life before they practised their handwriting using Victorian writing implements.
