July 2009
As is fast becoming the tradition at St Thomas More, our Maths and Science Week culminated in the maths Fair and Celebration Assembly.
The Maths Fair celebrates children's enjoyment of mathematics as they have to use their knowledge of basic skills to play the games and win the prizes. It is always an enjoyable occasion and this year parents and new pupils joining the school were invited to join in the fun. Children took part in games involving battleship co-ordinates, multiplication bingo, estimating the weight of a cake, sequencing numbers, matching fractions and more.
In the Assembly, children talked about what they had been up to during the week and shared their work. We also celebrated our competition winners.
Well done and thank you to all who took part. We raised £157 towards Mathematics equipment.
