School Events - Visit by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra

On Thursday 29th January we were delighted to welcome an ensemble from the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. They presented a wonderfully entertaining and informative roadshow.

The children were treated to performances of a range of concert pieces including some very familiar theme tunes! We had no shortage of hands up in recognition of 'In The Night Garden', 'Charlie and Lola', and 'The Simpsons'.

The musicians explained the workings of their instruments, the instrument families and the science of sound, helping develop the children's musical knowledge.

It was the huge smiles and rapturous applause that really told the story of how much we all enjoyed this wonderful musical event!
