Governors
Welcome to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.
The Governors of St Joseph's aim to keep all our parents and carers informed of who we are, the various committees we sit on and what we do and give you an insight into the work that goes on in school.
Hopefully, this will give you a better understanding of the role of a 'school governor' and perhaps some of you might think about volunteering yourself for this stimulating but, unfortunately, unpaid work!
We, as School Governors, have legal duties, powers and responsibilities that we must exercise as a body. No governor can act individually.
St Joseph's Governing Body consists of:
- 1 Parent - elected by parents
- 1 Teacher - elected by teachers
- 1 Non-teaching member of staff - elected by the non-teaching staff
- 1 LEA governor - appointed by the Local Education Authority
- 7 Foundation governors - appointed by the church
- The Headteacher
And, of course, we must not forget Maureen Blackburn who is our much treasured Clerk!
