Special Event - A VE Day Christmas Party

As part of the 'War Theme' Creative Curriculum the staff decided that instead of the traditional end of year Christmas Parties, we held a VE day style celebration.

The children were actively involved in the preparation of the jam sandwiches and jelly with tinned fruit, had cup cakes and left the party with a piece of fruit from Santa, a small bar of chocolate and a candy cane. They made decorations and hats from paper and old newspapers.

All children and staff dressed in clothing of the era and entertained each other with war poems read by Year 5 and Year 6 children.
