Special Event - Key Stage 2 at Tamworth Castle
12 July 2005
On the 12th of July 2005 we left school and walked to the coach. It was really hot and we had to wear our school clothes.
After a 30 minute journey we had to walk up a really steep hill to get to the castle courtyard, then we were lead off to the 'Great Hall' to look at the armour, I found this very interesting. We were then put into groups and with our leader, we explored the castle.
The first room we went into we had to write on a certificate with a Quill, it was very squeaky.
We then went into another room we pretended to be servants, two of my classmates Connor and Caitlin dressed up as Tudor children, it was very funny. Me and my friend Mia had to sweep the floor and polish the chairs. We then made pomanders and put our initials on it, that was good fun.
While we were exploring the castle we went into the haunted room, it was very scary because there was a ghost in the cupboard, which could speak.
We then went into another room and had good fun dressing up in Tudor clothes. We had lunch and explored the outside of the castle where we found out who was the last residents to live there. We met up with the other group and we went onto the balcony, we walked past where a white ghost was, we then went to the shop and I brought a lollipop and some jumping beans to remember the castle.
On the coach on the way back everyone was hot and tired, but happy they visited Tamworth castle.
