Year 1

Year 1 working together.

Hello and welcome pupils to Year 1.

Here we follow the Primary Framework for Numeracy and Literacy which is taught in small groups every day and the Early Years Curriculum which is taught through independent play activities.

Children learn how to read and write sounds and are encouraged to share and enjoy books that included those sounds.

Many of our curriculum subjects are taught cross curricular through the ethos of exploring and investigation and will include Geography, Design and Technology, History and Science.

Each week Year 1 also has a timetabled session in the schools ICT suite.
