Ofsted Inspection (November 2011)

Hawkesley Church Primary School had a full Ofsted visit on the 2nd and 3rd of November 2011, following our last monitoring inspection in June 2011. Here are some comments from the report:
- As a result of consistently good teaching, pupils’ progress has accelerated rapidly.
- In addition to improvements to pupils’ attainment and progress, the school takes good care of its pupils, whose behaviour is good.
- Effectiveness of leadership and management is good.
- The effectiveness of the governing body in challenging and supporting the school is good.
- Quality of provision in the early years, foundation stage (Nursery and Reception) is good.
- Leadership and management of the Early Years and Foundation Stage is good.
- The school’s capacity for sustained improvement is good and therefore, we are delighted to say, is no longer in special measures.

Ofsted Monitoring Inspection (June 2011)
Hawkesley Church Primary School had a fourth monitoring visit from Ofsted in June 2011, following our inspection in February 2010. Here are some comments from the report:
- Pupils' progress continues to accelerate at a good pace and pupils are pleased with their progress.
- Most pupils report that they enjoy school, learn a lot in lessons and are helped to be ready for the next stage of their education.
- There is a shared commitment among leaders, staff and the governing body to securing the school's improvement.
- The majority of lessons observed were good, having a positive impact on pupil’s learning and progress. There was no inadequate teaching.
- The leadership team are working well to secure the necessary improvements along with the staff, governing body and consultant leaders, who also share the same drive and ambition. Management and leadership is good.
- Overall progress since the last visit is good and also progress since Special Measures is good.

- The monitoring of lessons and pupils' work indicated that the children enjoy their lessons which are precise and effective in helping them to know the next steps to their learning.
- There is a shared commitment among leaders, staff and the governing body to securing the school's improvement. Management and leadership is good.
- There was no inadequate teaching and the majority of lessons observed were good.
- We are continuing to work to together to further improve on the good progress made.
- Overall progress since the last visit is good.

Ofsted Inspection
Our school was last inspected by Ofsted in February 2010.
Here are some quotes from the report:
- Most of [the pupils] behave satisfactorily and know how to take care of themselves.
- [Pupils] know how important it is to eat healthily and do lots of exercise.
- Adults help [pupils] if you are worried or have a problem.
- The school takes satisfactory care of [pupils].

SIAS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools)
Hawkesley Church Primary School was inspected by the Diocese of Birmingham under Section 48 of the Education Act in October 2006.
Here are some quotes from the report:

- There is a good Christian ethos in which every pupil is valued and there is an emphasis on respect for others.
