Governors

Canon Morris, Vice Chair of Governors
Hawkesley Church Primary School has always been about partnership for the sake of our children - especially between school, community and the local Methodist and Church of England churches.
That partnership is reflected in our Governing Body. Three of us are school parents, two are staff members and nine are from the two churches.
With the Headteacher and a representative of the Local authority, we are responsible together for overall policy, for allocating school budget and for supporting the Headteacher, staff and children.
Some church schools see their first task as the support of church families. Ever since it opened, the church commitment through Hawkesley School has however been to all in the local community.
As Rector of Kings Norton since 1999, based at St Nicolas on The Green, I'm very grateful to all colleagues and church members who ensure that this commitment is about action more than words. We intend that this continues through all the challenges ahead so that Hawkesley's children continue to share in rich educational opportunity and raised standards.
Every child really does matter, to God and to us.
