Closures Procedure

From time to time there maybe unplanned closures of schools due to certain unforeseen conditions such as bad weather conditions, power or heating failure.

Birmingham City Council try to do a 'blanket closure' of all schools if they consider the weather conditions to be severe.

There maybe occasions when very local conditions or lack of power or heating for example may result in individual schools having to close.

If we have to close Hawkesley Church Primary School as an individual school we will endeavour to inform parents or guardians as soon as possible. This will be done via announcements on the local radio stations:

• BBC West Midlands
• BRMB
• Heart FM

We have also invested in a text messaging service which will notify the first contact listed for all our pupils. It is therefore important for you to keep your mobile phone numbers up to date with the school office. Please note this is a messaging service only and you will not be able to reply to these texts.
