School Clubs
We have numerous school clubs either running at the moment or due to start soon. We hope that the list of clubs will continue to grow as more become available for the children to enjoy.
Choir

The Choir
Miss Arrowsmith, Miss Brindley and Mrs Venables run the school choir on a Wednesday after school. At choir we sing lots of different songs. Last year we went to sing at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham and at another school. We performed in front of a lot of people. At Christmas we always sing carols in front of all of the school and parents. We also do performances for special occasions. We recently sang at our Harvest Festival assembly. The choir is for children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. It is held once a week.

In our school choir we try our best but we also have fun. The main teachers of the choir are Ms Arrowsmith and Miss Brindley. Mrs Venables has recently started helping too because we have a lot of members. Here is a list of some of the songs we have done in the past: A Keelie, Dis long time gal, Downtown, Sweet Escape and loads of others. Everybody enjoys being in the choir.

Computer Club

Using the computers in the ICT Suite.
Mrs Dixon and Mrs Jones have run a Computer Club for many years. We started running Computer Club in the old Computer Suite which is now an office, used by Mrs O'Toole and Mrs Sparkes. It was very crowded in there and got hot in the Summer.
Computer Club is now held in our new Computer Suite which is spacious and even has air conditioning.
Computer Club is limited to 20 pupils so that we have more time to spend with individual children. We do lots of fun activities which reinforce skills learned during lessons and help to increase confidence.
Football Club
Football Club is for Years 5 and 6 and is run by Mr Jones and Mr Walker on a Thursday after school. Children are taught the rules of football and practise ball skills as well as playing games on the grass.

Gardening Club

Colourful planters outside our main entrance.
For many years Miss Martin and Mrs Roberts have run a Gardening Club for Key Stage 2 pupils.
Children in the club work hard to improve the appearance of the school grounds. Over recent years Gardening Club has planted many bulbs, shrubs and flowers in the quad and in the planters outside the main entrance.
Netball Club
Netball Club is for Years 5 and 6 and is run by Mrs Crisp and Miss Kelly on a Thursday after school. The children are taught the rules and practise ball skills as well as playing games on the junior playground. We also hope to play matches against other schools.

Pyramid Club
A Pyramid Club has been running at Chivenor since Spring 2009. Each programme has ten one-and-a-half hour sessions. Pyramid Club has an ethos of love and security, praise and recognition, new experiences and responsibility.
The club, for a maximum of twelve children, is run by three qualified school leaders. There is a policy of equal opportunity that eliminates any negative discrimination. Pyramid Club is particularly effective in supporting children who benefit from extra time and attention.
Activities include:
- Shared snack time - toast and a drink
- Children share in the preparation and washing up
- Team games
- Art and Craft activities.
